提名奧斯卡最佳電影的《黑天鵝》非常精彩，在片子完結的時候，我發現自己在坐位中喘氣。
進場以前，我有點被《黑天鵝》這名字誤導——以下要說的跟該片無關——黑天鵝這名字的出處，來自一個經濟／哲學理論 Black Swan Theory。2007年，擁有金融數學實踐背景的黎巴嫩作家Nassim Nicholas Taleb 出版了一本頗有趣的著作：《黑天鵝效應》The Black Swan: The Impact of the Highly Improbable，書中提及一個關於黑天鵝的故事：根據歐洲人的經驗，天鵝全是白色的，於是他們歸納出「世界上所有天鵝都是白色」的結論。後來有人發現了一只黑色天鵝，自此，所有天鵝都是白色的「定論」全然推翻。
黑天鵝理論：人類過份注重一般訊息的分析，運用他們已知的事去推斷所有未知的事，其實世界很複雜，我們無法預測和計算任何事情，許多經濟分析員總在分析他們已經知道的事，其實我們不知道的（黑天鵝），比起我們已經知道的（白天鵝）更加具啟發性。人們老是以為自己懂得一些事，其實那些所謂「已經懂得」的東西，並非真正曉得，就像大家當初以為自己經已很懂得天鵝一樣。如果接觸資訊（approach）以及將資訊歸類（categorization）的方法本就有問題，所有分析都徒勞無功。
近年經常有經濟學人提及黑天鵝理論，有興趣的話，不妨一讀這本顯淺易明的小書。噢，它跟 Darren Aronofsky 導演的電影《黑天鵝》全無關係的，唯一相同的是，兩隻黑天鵝也使兩位創作人登上事業高峰。
